The early years of a child are the most important ones, as that’s when they learn to develop a connection to their parents. Everything you do together is a way for you to communicate and further understand your child.

Looking for ways to bond with your baby? Read on to see how you can further strengthen the connection between you and your child.

Spend Time Playing With Your Baby

Play time is the best time for your child to learn, as their skills are being developed, from their motor skills down to their cognitive skills. With this, it’s important for you as a parent to be present during that development. Find the perfect balance between playing with your baby and having other children play with your child, as well. This will teach your child to play well with others while you can also teach them proper values and behaviour during play time.

Put the Phone Down

We may live in a digital age, but there’s still nothing like a mother’s touch or a father’s strong hold. Your little one deserves all the love and undivided attention in the world, so a few hours away from your phone won’t hurt. Try to keep your baby away from the screens, as well – a short TV show or video now and then is fine, but don’t make them dependent on the device.

Make Shower Time Fun

Believe it or not, baby bath time is a great way for you to bond with your little one. It’s a time where everything is calm and relaxed, so you focus on your child more while they get cleaned and enjoy the bath. Breaking out into song while they bathe or playing with the bubbles help them learn and appreciate your presence, strengthening the bond between you two.

Set Nap Times For Both of You

Babies need to get as much sleep as they can to help them grow, so sometimes, they have odd sleeping hours. They may be asleep as early as 7pm and wake up at 3am, which makes sleeping for you important, as well! Turn the lights off and sleep when your child sleeps so you can wake up feeling rested and happy – a happy mom equals to a happy baby, so make sure you get as much rest as you can!

Read To Them Whenever You Can

It’s always a good idea to read a lovely book to your child when you can! Start them out young so that when they grow up, they can develop a deeper appreciation for literature. Make sure that the book you read to them is according to what’s appropriate for their age – you wouldn’t want to read out a mystery novel to a one-year-old!

There are many ways to bond with your child and these are just a few of them. Don’t be afraid to explore more ways of bonding with your kid – all that matters is that your child feels happy, safe, and loved with you as their parent. Always remember to cherish every moment, as they grow up way too fast for your liking!
